This blog will be a shared space dedicated to media literacy. Here, we will do our best to take an attitude of genuine critics (and abandon the cynical perspective 🙈🙉🙊) in order to reflect on our consumption of media content during this epidemic (news articles, viral videos, series, reality TV, etc.) 😷😷. Blog posts are more reflective and elaborated that posts from discussion boards, and they require for a more planned writing. Blog posts must be around 300 words. “Ight Imma Head Out” SpongeBob Meme This frame of SpongeBob comes from the show’s episode “The Smoking Peanut” which aired on American television in 2001.  The scene shows SpongeBob sitting down in his chair, but the screenshot was interpreted by users as the character getting up from the chair.  It was not until July of 2019 that the image was shared in conjunction with the phrase “ight imma head out” by Twitter user @_Jasmineimani__.  This caption refers to the previous Twitter-trending phrase “alright bro I’m boutta head out,” which was first used on the social network to describe people who consume “excessive amounts” of marijuana only to sit in silence for 30 minutes and then simply declare that they are going to leave soon. This 5 step critical analysis is on Bruna's BBC News article on India's mental health crisis due to Covid-19, which I defend due to the neutral reporting, descriptive and effective language, and the subject that article calls attention to. Description: Covid-19 has not only been affecting people’s physical health, but it has equally affected their mental state. The number of people contracting this virus have been increasing all over the world, and different countries have been dealing with this critical situation in different ways. As stated in the article from BBC News, India doesn't have enough medical resources and hospitals for their citizens, and as they recover from the virus some people’s mental health has been affected because it’s a very “lonely” situation to experience.
